The Arts Bridge (formerly the Media & Arts Advancement Program or MAAP) seeks to create successful college pathways for low-income, first generation youth interested in careers in the arts.
Arts Bridge serves first generation youth from Poughkeepsie High School, many of whom struggle to succeed academically and are from families with parents who do not hold a college degree or have experience navigating the college process. Arts Bridge provides these youth with a peer network, adult mentorship, and skills including financial management, time management, and professional communication. Students participate in a weekly class with their cohort of peers, engage regularly with a mentor, and attend Art Institute courses in fall, spring, and summer sessions.
David Wong & Jordan Sanford oversee the implementation of the Arts Bridge Program. To learn more about Arts Bridge and our other programs call 845.471.7477
