What is the Hudson Valley Regional Portfolio Week?
Hudson Valley Regional Portfolio Day allows local youth the opportunity to speak with college representatives, get their portfolio critiqued, and receive a true advantage as they contend for merit-based scholarships in the arts. Now in its 19th year, Portfolio Day is able to provide this unique opportunity to high school and Art Institute students free of change thanks to a generous grant from a local foundation. This year, due to Covid-19, we are expanding Portfolio Day to a week and moving it online! This will give more than 300 students a safe environment to visit with up to 40 colleges. Students must pre-register for a 10-15 minute time slot with colleges of their choice.
What should you bring to your pre-scheduled appointment?
Your portfolio should consist of 10-15 of your best and most recent visual artwork. You may also want to include works in progress or sketchbooks in order to share your process when necessary. Each portfolio should be photographed and uploaded to be presented digitally via Zoom’s screen share during your scheduled meeting time.
The Art Effect will be hosting portfolio photography days on Saturday, October 3rd and Sunday, October 11th from 12-5pm at The Trolley Barn to have your artwork professionally photographed and provide help with uploading and using Zoom.
Students MUST pre-register and choose time slots for this week long event. Registration information coming soon!
