The Art Effect is Making Waves of Change This #GivingTuesday, joining millions around the world participating in the global generosity movement on December 1, 2020

GivingTuesday

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – On Tuesday, December 1, 2020, The Art Effect will launch the #GivingTuesday campaign to raise $20,000 to provide the mentorship and resources young people in Poughkeepsie and the greater Hudson Valley need to stay on a successful path, especially during these unprecedented times. We have always believed in the power our teachers have to instruct students not only in art skills, but also life skills that go beyond the studio.

GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement, unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and their world. GivingTuesday will kick off the generosity season this year by inspiring people to give back on December 1, 2020, and throughout the year.

At The Art Effect, we believe it’s not just about learning how to make great art — it’s about deepening the bonds that begin in the studio and extend through high school graduation, college attendance, and career success.

Eloisa Morales, a graduate of The Art Effect reflects, “The Art Effect pushes you even farther than you’d think of going. At The Art Effect, everyone knows who you are. Your teachers know you better than you do.”Young people right now are continuing to learn how to cope with the ever-changing world around them while also struggling to stay connected, motivated, and hopeful for the future. The Art Effect continues to empower young people to harness their creative voices as they respond to these unprecedented times. We continue to adapt all our classes and workforce programs to reach more young people, providing them with opportunities to develop creative and workforce skills through the arts, and helping youth get on track for college and career.

The Art Effect is proud to be the largest arts education organization in the Hudson Valley. From Kingston to Newburgh, Poughkeepsie to Hudson, we are dedicated to serving young people through the arts. This #GivingTuesday The Art Effect is launching it’s annual campaign by asking alumni, sponsors, community members, and board members to come together to make everything possible for our youth.

All funds raised will go toward supporting arts education programs for youth in the Hudson Valley to explore, experience and excel in the arts.
